UBC Boathouse Wedding: Lisa and Lee
The first thing I said when Mark and I were driving home at night from the UBC Boathouse was that I was sad that it was over : ( We feel like there was a lot leading up to Lee and Lisa’s wedding day- not just because they were engaged for years, but also the excitement building up in the months prior to the day (seeing all the facebook updates by Lisa and Lee about their wedding added to the anticipation). I know that Mark and I weren’t the only ones who felt this way- their friends were also super excited for them, making bride and groom prep time even more fun!
Lisa and the gals got ready at the airport at Absolute Spa and in their Fairmont hotel room, while the guys did their thing at Lisa and Lee’s nearby place. Make up was by Benita (yes, the bridesmaid extraordinaire from our last blog post) : )

Lee wore his police uniform to the airport to meet Lisa for the first time in her wedding dress, and then later changed into his tux.

The whole wedding party came to see Lee and Lisa meet up for the first time on their wedding day. I think we all got a little lump in our throat when they hugged:

This is not a random photo shoot in the airport- this is the cross walk where Lee and Lisa first met and, can you believe it, where Lee later proposed to Lisa!

Beauty and the beast? These two photos were taken at exactly the same time-Lisa and I were waiting in the hallway, she was being so polite, innocent, and proper (and beautiful), while Lee quickly changed out of his police uniform and into (with the help of his guys) .. a bra? This is what happens when guys are let loose alone in a girls room! Lee, I’m sure you couldn’t stop them, right? : )

After Lee got his bra straightened out, we all drove out to Steveston for a photo bootcamp. We ended up having about 1/3 the amount of time for photo fun than was scheduled~ but really it was no problem, thanks to a very fun group that made it so enjoyable (and I like calling it a bootcamp anyway). Lisa and Lee were just as awesome to shoot on their wedding day as they were for their engagement session.

The ceremony was held in the late afternoon at the Minoru Chapel.

And after the ceremony we all headed over to the ultra cool UBC Boathouse for the reception.

Just in time for sunset!!

I can’t believe Mark didn’t get kicked while taking this shot-that’s a fisheye lens so he was pretty close!

Bye bye bouquet- Lisa has quite the throw!! Flowers by Bridal Beginnings.

Guess who caught the garter?

Congratulations Lisa and Lee, and thank you for having a blast with us!! Cheers to the wedding party as well- you seriously rocked the house!
And before we forget, Anna, it was wonderful working with you! Anna is a wedding coach from Fairy Godmother Weddings.

Lisa and Lee:
Wow! Incredible! Wishing my very photogenic daughter and son-in-law a lifetime of happiness. I love you both. Sakura, mission accomplished! Brilliant shots - I love them all! You rocked my gypsy soul. Can’t wait to see the rest. There’s only one thing I find puzzling - how did Lee end up with my bra?

Oh my word….ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY BREATHTAKING!!! Kids you found some spectacular indescribable photographers! Leslie & Mark, you were sooooooo much fun to work with, I’m so pleased that Lisa & Lee had found you. In the shots above alone, you both truly captured the essence of the day & the essence of the happy couple! Bellisimo!!!
Lisa you looked radiant & Lee you looked so handsome in your uniform…& the pink bra’s a nice touch. Have to agree w/Leslie in that I was sad to see the night come to an end :o( It was time to go when the linens started coming off the tables!
Moms: what can I say, you have some beautiful kids…& Praneel cannot wait for them to have kids, apparently he agreed to be their “manny”
Thank you so much for everything Sakura!!!
PS - I’m going to ask Santa for my very own photobooth ;o)

Yes I laughed when I saw Mark in the photo as well : ) Luckily Lisa and Lee like us so I don’t think they’ll mind having Mark in their shot ; )
The fondant was great- you don’t even need to ask that because it always is! : ) (just don’t tell any cake makers I said that).
Thank you every one else for the kind words– I want Lisa and Lee to get married every weekend!
