Though it might seem odd to assign a number to a bride, Lisa is self-proclaimed “bride #6″ amongst a fun+fab group of friends who gave me the honor of photographing their wedding. I am so lucky, I love photographing this gang! Complete trust is what I always want, and that is surely what I got at Lisa and David’s sweet little “upstairs” Brock House wedding!
The first look:
Janelle and Rich were married at the beautiful Westcoast Wilderness Lodge on the sunshine coast. Angela Girard and her team at Reflection Events headed up the planning, florals, and decor (they did an amazing job with their truck full of decor goodies that they brought from Vancouver), Audio Edge was there for the music, and cake was by Clayton’s Bakery. Thank you Janelle+Rich and their families for such a warm and welcoming weekend at Egmont- I wish I could do this every weekend!
We photographed Sarah and Jeremy’s super fun wedding the day after Laara and Anders‘ wedding- the awesome thing about that is that both couples were referred to us by Allison and Ramsey! Many of our weddings we photograph are direct referrals from other couples we have photographed, but this is the first time we have had two in a row referred from the same couple! (thank you A+R!) : )
This was a fab wedding at Terminal City Club, we walked over to gastown in the rain for some fun creatives before the ceremony– lots of walking, but not a problem for this gang!

The busier we get, the more the blog takes the hit, but I’ll try to blog when I can over the next few months. : ) I am so excited about the weddings we have already photographed, as well as the upcoming weddings we get to photograph!
When Allison and Ramsey were on their honeymoon last August, they met Laara and Anders. Allison sent the link to her wedding photo gallery along to to Laara, and in the meantime Laara got engaged to Anders. With a little emailing and a few very nice (and lengthy!) voice mail messages, Laara and Anders decided that they would have me photograph their wedding, which was in Spokane! I knew Mark wouldn’t be able to photograph this wedding with me, so a special thank you to my sister for being my chauffeur and driving me to Spokane and home again so that I could sleep in the car and be well rested to solo shoot their wedding, followed by another lovely wedding in Vancouver.
We had a mini engagement shoot the day before their wedding in Spokane– just a short walk near downtown.
And now, on to the wedding day!
My favorite wedding guest of all time– Anders’ grandmother! She’s in her 90’s, and her speech at the reception was a Shakespeare sonnet that she recited by heart– one of my favorite wedding memories ever!
The Bozarth Mansion was a beautiful place for their wedding. Thank you Laara and Anders for this fun Spokane “destination” wedding : P 
This was the cutest little daytime lunch wedding the Brock House has ever seen! I met Shelley and Jamie for the first time on the day of their wedding, but thanks to the powers of Facebook, I already knew ahead of time that Shelley is a sweet and smiley gal who is very close with her family, and I already felt comfortable around her the moment I saw her. These two are a wonderful match, their families are awesome, and I couldn’t imagine their wedding day being any more perfect! Rain schmain!

In shooting weddings year round in rainy Vancouver, I never thought that Mexico could out-rain Vancouver, but it certainly did on Sarah and Jake’s wedding day… many times over! I’m not just saying this to be cheesy, but the rain was actually super fun and adventurous! It rained into our rooms and into the restaurants, and even walking along the covered areas did not shield from the sideways rain. Sarah and Jake’s pre-ceremony shoot was shot in covered areas, but we still had to blow dry Sarah’s dress before the ceremony because of all the rain. All of the staff at La Amada were amazing and fun at handling the sudden change in weather, and they were continually squeegee-ing the grounds of the resort so guests could walk on the walkways.
I have nothing but good things to say about Sarah and Jake’s wedding, their fab guests, the perfect staff, the beautiful beach and resort grounds, the exciting weather, my perfect hotel room that I miss very much, and the mega party that went into the night. We had a lucky sliver of no rain for about 20 minutes, right before it got dark and downpoured again, and we hit the beach for some fun photos during that time. We were so lucky!

Lots of planning went into Bernadette and Warren’s big wedding day and it went off without a hitch. And they left the party with a bang at their amazing sparkler send off complete with a fire alarm! I love their style : )

Invitations by Warren and Bernadette
Held over several days, the main event was held on a Saturday, and included a temple ceremony, church ceremony, and huge rockin’ reception. Being an Indian and Chinese wedding, it was definitely our biggest wedding day we’ve photographed, but despite all the events, there was still much time for Sheryl and Sunny to take it all in and enjoy the day, which I love to see!

Sarah and Jake had the most amazing wedding….. in the most amazing rain I’ve ever seen! It hasn’t rained in the last couple of months in Cancun, but mother nature sure made up for that in the last couple of days!
Their wedding took place yesterday, at the luxuriously perfect La Amada resort, but today we took some fun day-after wedding photos in the pouring rain (I’m sorry, my dear cameras!!). It was raining sideways-and even upwards- yesterday and today, but that made everything so much more RADICAL AND CHAWESOME! : )
