1. I love it when I see a wedding be a perfect representation of the couple and their personalities.  So much work went into the fun details at Danielle and Chad’s wedding, I am excited to show it off here!  Danielle picked some amazing vendors (Roa Floral Design, Lise at Urban Event Planners)
2. Danielle’s super sweet parents came and hung out during girls prep time, and I loved her father’s reaction after seeing her in her dress : )  I’d also like to dedicate part of this blog post to Chad’s mother, who checks the blog regularly!
3. Chad, in Chad-like fashion, got bored while I was photographing him, thus the surprise jowler  : )  We had fun that day!

Laity Pumpkin Patch

October 22, 2009

Jordan, at 5 months, at the Laity Pumpkin Patch in Maple Ridge. Happy pumpkin season!

1. Though they never said these exact words, I am pretty sure that Abby and Kurtis chose us to shoot their day because we’re a little… strange  : P  And though I never said these exact words back to them, I was extremely happy when their wedding day arrived because I know that they are also a little… strange : )
2. Yes, that is an artichoke in Abby’s amazing bouquet!
3. I wiped out as I was gunning it backwards up the hill at Ron Basford park while Abby+Kurtis were walking up the aisle after their ceremony at Ron Basford park- based on the photo seen below of them laughing at me, I know that at least one guest has captured it : )
4. Mark is the blog police and always tells me that I blog too many images… ooops, hopefully he won’t see this one!

1. Pam and Jeremy planned their wedding from start to finish in three months…
2. THREE MONTHS!
3. Despite the short planning time, nothing was compromised and was just perfect in every way imaginable.  Within one week of being engaged, they had almost everything in order for their big day- they are so open minded and therefore everything fell in place for them.  You can’t go wrong with Hart House, and they even had a whole roasted suckling pig on menu that evening!

Cut your hair, Joe

October 9, 2009

Mark’s brother, Joe, has had his dreads for 9 years.  He’s now in his 30’s and after years of many people begging him to get a haircut, he has finally given in.  Luckily he is putting his 9 years of intensive dread-growing to good use, and is fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society and will be getting them chopped off on November 7!!!!!!  Yay!  Watch out ladies!
He has a goal of $10,000, which is only $192.31 per dreadlock (remember, he worked hard for those dreads!).  Donations can be made here, don’t delay!

1. Sara is rebel bride #2, with her hot red dress and sassy hair!  …breaking all the rules.  Check it out!!!!!!!!! I love her look!
2. No wedding party meant lots of great 1 on 1 portrait time with Sara and Mike around New Westminster- even with a short amount of time, I loved the images from their session.
3. During the reception, a lymeric was the task that guests needed to perform in order for S&M to kiss : )
4. While Sara waited for her images to be ready, she reminded me from time to time through email about how she was being “good and patient at waiting… sort of” : ) haha, well Sara, they are ready for ya!
5. Looking for gluten+wheat+dairy-free cupcakes? check out Coco Cakes!

6. —just have to add this last point- I haven’t even sent out the email to Sara to tell her about the blog post that went up a few hours ago, and she’s already got these up on facebook : )  I love the enthusiasm!

Venue: Centennial Lodge
Ceremony: Queen’s Park

1. When we first met with Ursula and Gerry in June of 2008, they had wanted bouncy balls to be used in their photo session (or was it just Gerry who wanted this?!!) ; )- I was extremely excited to see that over a year later, they still stuck with their plans and we could follow through with their vision.
2. Green dress and orange shoes, I was updated throughout the year on Ursula’s planning thanks to her Facebook updates, and could not wait to see her on the wedding day!  …moreover I could not wait to see Gerry rip off her dress during their crazy awesome first dance routine!
3. Washington Avenue Grill…. absolutely amazing place for a wedding!  From the decor, to the food, to the fun staff, the view, the drinks…– all top notch and highly recommended!

I’ve had many requests to blog this wedding from people who had heard about it- everyone was intrigued to hear of my rebellious blue dress bride who dared to get married on a Monday : )  I am super excited to share this wedding with everyone!!
