1. Some people like to get married with trees or ocean as a backdrop, but if Vancouver’s skyscrapers are what you’re looking for, then Marriott Pinnacle is your place!!
2. Cars, cars, cars!  Allan (+company) loves cars, so we were chauffeured around in three “special” cars during the day.  I say special, because I haven’t a clue what they were (sorry Allan!) : P  But my accurate description is that they were “nice, dark, and leathery” : )
3. Japadog!  It’s so fun and relaxing for everyone to have a bite to eat during photo time, and this was my first try at a Japadog (there is a veggie version), thanks to Mark!
4. I want to make a separate blog post on one of the cool games they played during the reception.  Now that I’ve said it, I have to follow through and do it (later, I promise)  : )

Together with many friends and family, a picture perfect ceremony and a huge reception/party was held for Susan and Allan- starting off at “not too crazily early” in the morning (there is a scale of craziness for bridal start times), and going strong on through the night.  Check it:

Apologies for the “cluster blogging”!  I’m not sure if this has become a habit, but right now I have lots to blog!

These two married lovebirds are in town from Japan for Aveline and Andrew’s upcoming wedding, and wanted a lifestyle session in Vancouver.  They are super cute x100!  …and I love the dress too!

Andrea and Matt

July 7, 2009

1. I didn’t believe Andrea and Matt when they told me they were having a small wedding.  I didn’t think they could pull it off with only 15 guests… I figured others would pressure them into letting them attend.  I was wrong!  Not only did they pull it off, but we’re talking 15 people in total, including themselves and the 5 person wedding party (all the brothers and sisters).
2. Holy smokes- check out Andrea’s shoes!  She got them dyed in that hot color and they definitely take the cake.  I love the juxtaposition of a small, quiet, and intimate wedding day, and those “out there” shoes!
3. Their one-table reception was held in the wine room at the C Restaurant.
4. Matt and Andrea are having a large reception up in the Okanagan which is going to be totally amazing (wish we could be there but we’ll already be in the Okanagan to shoot a wedding at the same time!).

What an honor to be asked to be a part of such an intimate day!  Andrea and Matt were married by Matt’s father, Matt’s brother lead a prayer during the ceremony, Andrea’s father did a reading, Andrea’s loving sisters sang and her future brother-in-law played guitar– the closeness and meaningfulness of everything was quite apparent and moving during their ceremony.  We wish them a beautiful day of fun in Kelowna!
